While most green iguanas are indeed green, some adults can be orange and pink and average 5' in length. Green iguanas feed on vegetation as well as bird eggs and dead animals, but cause the most devastation by digging burrows that erode sidewalks, foundations, and seawalls. Iguanas were first reported in Florida in the 1960s and tend to stay in southern Florida as they are not cold hardy. So keep a look out when it gets too cold; they freeze and can fall out of trees and off roofs!
